january 🕯️🤍✨
winter: darkness, mourning, cocooning, yearning.
Hi.
& Happy new year ! ! 🎊
Some brief updates while we’re still wintering… (over in the Northern Hemisphere at least!!)
I decided not to make a big thing about putting six poems on Big Cartel.
So this is me saying - my online shop is live. I’m only posting to the UK from now on. I hope you buy a copy.
I don’t really have any philosophical thoughts to share today.
I’m appreciating the stillness.
I’ve updated my paid subscriber offerings.
I have some ideas around new formats or shapes for this newsletter, such as prioritising audio over the written word, or sticking to a more rigid schedule.
I’m also prioritising my website, and I’ve added an “updates” section to my upcoming ! page, as well as some other tweaks and additions.
I love the idea of a website being a sprawling, interesting, unique hub for one’s art.
Do you have a website for your art, work, or something else that you’re proud of? Are there websites that you find particularly cool?
I love how autonomous a website makes me feel.
And what’s more important than autonomy, as an artist? (Besides the obvious honing of one’s craft, ofc.)
Some food for thought perhaps…
I’m gonna sign off now & rest up a bit more.
May your day be fulfilling and relaxing!

P.S. this is the first time I’m posting an article from my phone. There may be some formatting quirks!
P.P.S. a recent poem I read again and loved was one by Rilke (a perfect wintering poet perhaps). Here is a screenshot from my IG stories.
P.P.P.S. speaking of Instagram I logged back in to my cosy [MUSIC MONIKER ONLY] account that I started - and promptly departed - last year as I thought about posting to stories (only) to share the music videos I’m releasing this year. Feel free to follow me… it’ll just be the occasional music update as I am wanting to keep things fairly clandestine and autonomous still.

happy new year 🤍♥️
looking forward to more of your content this year
